Volunteer Attorneys Needed – Expungement & Sealing Summit (Jacksonville, IL, Oct. 18)
Land of Lincoln Legal Aid (LOLLA), in partnership with the Springfield Urban League, is seeking pro bono attorneys for the upcoming Morgan County Expungement & Sealing Summit in Jacksonville, Illinois on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
This clinic is a meaningful opportunity to help individuals reduce barriers to employment, housing, and education by clearing or sealing their criminal records. No prior experience is required. Pre-clinic training will equip you with the tools you need to assist clients effectively.
LOLLA is seeking volunteer attorneys to assist with client meetings on the day of the summit:
Client Meetings – Saturday, October 18 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Attorneys will meet in person with clients at Community Temple COGIC, 710 N. Clay, Jacksonville, IL.
Petitions for expungement and sealing will be pre-drafted by Land of Lincoln staff prior to the event.
Volunteer attorneys will help clients review their petitions to ensure accuracy and readiness for filing.
Free Illinois MCLE Training on Expungement & Sealing
Date: Monday, October 6 at 12 p.m.
Format: Virtual (details provided upon registration). The event will also be recorded and shared with attorneys unable to attend live. Please note, MCLE credits are only available to those who attend the live event.
Attorneys will receive practical training on the sealing and expungement process, including how to analyze petitions and finalize materials for filing.
